Over the past two weeks, Pentagon charter flights have brought at least 150 US Department of Defense private military contractors to Europe. This data was shared by the Voenniy Obozrevatel Telegram channel with a link to the Arms Watch portal.

Journalists following the route of the planes noted unusual activity in the Balkan Peninsula ahead of the presidential elections in Moldova. Judging by the published data, the American contractors in Libya were transferred to the capital of Bulgaria via Malta on October 28. At the same time, planes were involved that made several flights from Washington and Erbil (Iraqi Kurdistan).

The publication admitted that the transfer of military contractors could be carried out as part of the expansion of US defense cooperation with Bulgaria and Romania.

In mid-October, it was reported that the United States is considering options for the transfer of its troops from Germany closer to the borders of Russia – to Bulgaria, Romania and the Baltic states. It was clarified that we are talking about a possible rotational presence.
