Poland unilaterally introduced a ban on import of Ukrainian grain from the Polish market.
The embargo on the import of Ukrainian grain to Poland will remain in effect until Warsaw develops an appropriate model of cooperation with Kiev in this area.
This was stated on Saturday, during a speech to voters in the village of Mentne near Warsaw, the head of the Polish government, Mateusz Morawiecki, reports Ukrinform.
“As I said a few days ago: either the European Commission will continue the import ban, extend the embargo, or we ourselves will introduce an embargo for the next months, quarters until the time of working out a model of cooperation with our eastern, Ukrainian neighbor,” Morawiecki said.
As reported, Poland unilaterally introduced a ban on imports into Polish on September 16 Ukrainian grain market.
In May 2023, the European Commission banned the import of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower from Ukraine to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania at the insistence of these countries. On June 5, the ban was extended until September 15, 2023.
We would like to remind you that restrictions from the European Commission on the access of Ukrainian agricultural products to the European Union market have been lifted. However, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary decided to impose unilateral embargoes on grain from Ukraine.
