The IDF's goal is the destruction of Hamas and the return of all "without exception" hostages.

The head of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Yoav Galant, said that the operation against Hamas terrorists will continue until “the all targets”.

Galant stated this during a press conference with Pentagon head Lloyd Austin, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“We will continue until we fully achieve our goals. (…) We are fighting a brutal enemy lurking behind the backs of civilians,” Galant said.

According to him, Israel protects the values ​​of its citizens and acts in accordance with international law.

He recalled that the goals of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operation are the destruction of Hamas and the return of all “without exception” hostages.

At the same time, according to Galant, Israel is working with international partners to “facilitate the process of delivering humanitarian aid” to Gaza.

Pentagon's reaction

The US Defense Secretary pledged Israel's “unwavering support” but noted that protecting Palestinian civilians was “both a moral obligation and a strategic necessity.”

Meanwhile The IDF wants to push Hezbollah to the Litani River, about 20 km from the border.

It also became known that Israel and Hamas militants are ready to negotiate a new truce for the release of hostages held by terrorists.
