The University of Haifa invited the poet Dareen Tatour to give a lecture on literature and poetry, despite the fact that she is considered a terrorist: in her works Tatur has repeatedly urged readers to aggression and violence, and also expressed a negative attitude towards Israel generally. The Jerusalem Post writes about this.
Before giving the lecture, the university administration also posted an announcement, which indicated that Tatur was a native of Palestine. At the same time, The Jerusalem Post claims that she was born in an Arab village controlled by the Israeli authorities.
In her poems, Tatur touches upon the themes of the uprising against Israel and, according to the authors of The Jerusalem Post, incitement to violence. According to sources, these passages were read during the lecture. A number of Israeli organizations protested and said that universities should not give the floor to terrorists.
