United Russia party proposed to ban the use of artificial intelligence in medicine, education and other “sensitive” areas. The authors of the idea believe that technology can lead to discrimination against some people.
Such a proposal is contained in the “Digital Manifesto”, which was developed by “United Russia”. It is planned to be adopted on Tuesday, August 17, at the expert session “Digital Future of the Country”.
The RBC party said that artificial intelligence is already being used when making decisions on the issuance of bank loans in other industries. United Russia said that banks themselves sometimes do not know why the technology made such decisions. They also reported that sometimes artificial intelligence is involved in hiring.
It is noted that the manifesto proposes to make the state's priority the protection of a person from cyber fraud and crime, digital discrimination and violation of privacy in the digital environment.
