A unique operation. German doctors transplanted an artificial heart for the first time.

The organ is made of plastic from the outside, but the valves and chambers were taken from a bovine heart. The artificial heart is connected to a special battery – you can control it from the outside.
Doctors say that such artificial organs are a real salvation for many patients waiting in line for transplantation. However, this decision is only temporary, while patients are waiting for a transplant of a real organ.
Let us remind you that earlier in the Lviv emergency hospital for the first time in Ukraine a heart was transplanted to a child – 13-year-old Maksim Davidyuk from the village of Zarudchi, Lyubeshevskaya community. His donor was a 54-year-old man who died of a stroke .
