Found in Turkey bas-reliefs
During excavations in northwestern Turkey, a unique bas-relief was discovered depicting the war between the Greeks and Persians in the 5th century BC.
First, archaeologists excavated a 40-meter-long section of the Phrygian wall of the 8th century BC. An even more surprising discovery for them was the stone bas-reliefs that adorned the walls of the ancient city of Daskileon.
The artifacts were discovered during excavations in the area of the city of Bandirma, in the west of the province of Balikesir.
The drawings depict Greek warriors and the Persians fighting them on horseback. Greek soldiers are depicted under the feet of Persian horses. This was propaganda used during the wars. We can say that these bas-reliefs are a scene from the period of the Persian-Greek wars.

According to the head of the excavation, Professor Kaan Iren, the find sheds light on the complex and long history of Daskileon. It has been home to many civilizations that ruled Anatolia at different times. It is believed that the first settlers of Daskileon were the Phrygians, who began construction around 700 BC.
