The UNIQA insurance group suffered a sharp drop in earnings last year. According to preliminary information, pre-tax profits (EGT) of 57.1 million euros, after 296 million euros in the previous year, UNIQA announced on Thursday.
That is pretty much in line with the analysts' forecasts. In the worst case, UNIQA had not ruled out a minus for 2020.
Contrary to the announcement made in April 2020 that the dividend will not be paid, UNIQA intends to distribute profits to its shareholders for the past financial year. The dividend should – as for 2019 – be 0.18 euros per share, it said on Thursday.
The stocks were last listed on the stock exchange at EUR 6.30. Because of the corona crisis, only a third of the originally planned dividend (of EUR 0.54 per share) was paid out for 2019. The Annual General Meeting on May 31 is to decide on the dividend.
