The starting price for GeForce RTX 30 Ampere accelerators is closer to the official (recommended by manufacturers) than the Radeon RX 6000.
Recall that at the beginning of the year, just after the jump in the value of leading cryptocurrencies, the prices of Nvidia accelerators increased 3-4 times. But video cards from AMD only doubled in price on average. Experts attribute this to a more rapid price reduction for the RTX 30 Ampere.
But there is another reason. Nvidia makes a lot more graphics cards than AMD. It is reasonable – there are few cards, there is demand, which means that they will not become cheaper so quickly.
One way or another, now, due to the next round of the cryptocurrency boom, it is obvious that the decline in the cost of accelerators will slow down. Mining is making good money again. And crypto miners will not want to miss out on profits by buying up all the video cards available on the market.
