This is the second time the state has issued a statement.

North Carolina in the United States recognized the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people. The symbolic decision is timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the tragedy.

This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova on Twitter.

“We are grateful to the State of North Carolina and North Carolina’s 75th Governor, Roy Cooper, for re-recognizing the Holodomor as genocide on the 90th anniversary of the Ukrainian Holodomor,” she wrote.

Let us recall that the American state of Iowa recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people. Now November has been proclaimed the month of remembrance of the Holodomor-genocide in Ukraine. Thus, in the United States there are already 33 states that have come up with a decision.
