Tensions in Ukraine, amid escalation by the Russian Federation, have peaked since 2014.
This was stated by UN Deputy Secretary General Rosemary DiCarlo at a speech at the UN Security Council on February 17.
She called on all parties for restraint, but at the same time expressed concern about the aggravation in the JFO zone.
– Tensions in and around Ukraine have reached their highest level since 2014. Often and thickly there are statements about a possible military conflict. Whatever we think about the prospects for such a confrontation, the reality is that the current situation is extremely dangerous. We also call on all parties to abandon unilateral decisions that undermine the Minsk agreements, in particular regarding the status of ORDLO, DiCarlo said.
Recall, as of the morning of February 17, the Russian occupation troops fired at a kindergarten in Stanytsia Luhanska, a lyceum, and a railway. At the same time, weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements were used.
As a result, Ukrainian military and civilians were wounded.
