Several thousand Ukrainians have already found refuge in neighboring countries.

UNICEF Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Afshan Khan believes that due to the hardships of the war unleashed by Putin against Ukraine, up to 5 million citizens may leave our state

According to Reuters, he said this at a UN briefing in Geneva.

According to him, the lack of fuel, cash and medical supplies, which is already being felt in parts of Ukraine in connection with the Russian invasion, could force Ukrainians to leave the country.

“We are considering ranges from 1 to 3 million in Poland… A scenario from 1 to 5 million, including all surrounding countries,” Afshan Khan shared his forecasts for the number of refugees from Ukraine

UN refugee agency spokeswoman Shabia Mantuo noted that at least 100,000 people have already been forced to leave their homes in Ukraine since Russia launched an attack on Thursday, February 24. Several thousand have already found refuge, in particular in neighboring countries – Moldova, Romania and Poland.

Recall that the citizens of Ukraine got the opportunity to enter the territory of the Republic of Moldova with internal identity documents and without the mandatory presentation of a Covid-19 certificate.
