MINUSCA: three UN peacekeepers injured in car explosion in CAR

Three UN peacekeepers from Tanzania were injured in a car bomb attack in the Central African Republic. The UN mission for stabilization in the CAR (MINUSCA) reports.
The incident took place in the southwestern part of the country on December 30, at about 11.00 local time (13.00 Moscow time). A convoy of peacekeepers set off from the town of Berberati towards temporary military posts located about 100 kilometers away when the car was blown up by an unidentified explosive device.
Three Tanzanian peacekeepers were injured. One of them was seriously wounded, he was taken to Bouar for treatment.
CAR is classified by the UN as the second least developed country in the world. After the coup d'état in 2013, a civil war broke out in the republic. The conflict continues to this day, but its intensity has significantly decreased in three years. Despite this, militants regularly attack UN peacekeepers.
