Members of ultra-right extremist groups, as well as members of the ultra-left Antifa movement, were suspected of provocations during the protests in the United States. This is reported by the local portal KTTC.

Campaign materials found at demonstrations in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, indicate the covert involvement of white supremacists, State Correctional Commissioner Paul Schnell said. Extremists are allegedly trying to destabilize the state. He noted that law enforcement agencies are also investigating the possible interference of anti-fascists in the protests.

State Gov. Tim Walls stressed that he extended the curfew precisely because of the alleged involvement of the far-right. “We have reason to believe that malicious actors continue to intervene in legitimate protests over the assassination of George Floyd,” Walz added.

Demonstrations over the death of a black man, George Floyd, after a brutal arrest have swept dozens of US cities, accompanied by vandalism, looting and attacks on police. The American authorities said that any clashes with police officers and threats to law enforcement officers would be regarded as acts of internal terrorism. President Donald Trump has threatened to deploy an armed army in rebellious cities.

According to data from open sources, “Antifa” is not a single organization, but autonomous groups of people that exist in many countries of the world and have declared themselves fighters against neo-Nazism. They often behave as aggressively as the neo-Nazis themselves towards migrants. Trump decided to recognize the Antifa movement as a terrorist organization.

On January 24, a cell of Americans was opened in the States, preparing for a racial war and the creation of a “white ethno-state.” Members of this neo-Nazi group communicated with each other via the Internet, discussed acts of violence against Jews and African Americans in secret chats, methods of making explosive devices.
