Ukrainians in Poland are preparing to cancel another free service: what and when

Ukrainians, who were forced to seek asylum in Poland due to the Russian attack, will soon partially pay their accommodation in mass accommodation centers.

The Government of Poland is preparing to introduce 50% payment for refugees from their accommodation in mass accommodation centers.

About this writes Gazetaprawna.pl.

According to the plans of the Polish government members, payment for accommodation in mass refugee centers will not be canceled for everyone.

Thus, people of retirement age who are no longer working, people with disabilities, as well as mothers of large families who are raising children themselves, will not pay 50% of their stay in the centers.

Deputy Minister of the Interior and Government Commissioner for Refugees Pavel Shefernaker explained the innovation by the fact that a large number of Ukrainians who were forced to leave their country have already found work in Poland, and therefore have certain incomes. According to him, Poland can no longer bear all the costs of living for refugees.

It is expected that such payment will be introduced from mid-November. The final decision of this innovation should be made public soon by the government of Poland.

According to estimates, now there are about 80 thousand refugees from Ukraine in the centers of mass accommodation in Poland. One of the largest centers is in the city of Nadarzyn, where almost 2 thousand people live.

Recall that the European Commission decided that Ukrainians who return home for a long period will be able to return to the EU again and they won't need to re-register. Upon their return, such people will automatically continue to be covered by the Temporary Protection Directive.

Before a long trip to Ukraine, refugees will need to inform the relevant authorities of the country about their departure from an EU country. At the same time, it is important to indicate that the person intends to return.

Meanwhile, Vice-Marshal of Warmia and Mazury Voivodeship Myron Sych expressed indignation that many Ukrainians in Poland speak Russian and suggests to teach them their native language.
