Ukrainian writer proposed to rename the Russian language to Moscow

The Russian language must be renamed into “Moscow”, since this is precisely its “historically correct name”. This opinion was expressed by the scandalous Ukrainian writer Larisa Nitsoy.

“I call this language Moscow … I urge everyone to call Russia Muscovy, their historical name,” said the Ukrainian writer on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.

The writer claims that Russia “stole” the name of the Russian language from Ukraine, which, as she believes, is not needed by the inhabitants of the square, but everyone is used to speaking it, and they did not have sufficient motivation to speak Ukrainian. However, in her opinion, the new language law should radically change this situation.

Nitsoy cited as an example a case in a store where the saleswoman initially spoke Russian, but after the writer mentioned the language law, she immediately switched to Ukrainian. She believes that this case proved the need for a pendel for Ukrainians who are accustomed to speaking Russian.

As a reminder, in Ukraine, since 2019, a law has been in effect, according to which Ukrainian is considered the only state language. It is its application that is mandatory in almost all spheres of life.
