On December 10, two Ukrainian athletes won gold and bronze medals at the freestyle (ski acrobatics) World Cup, which takes place in the Finnish town of Ruka.
Anastasia Novosad won first place, and Olga Polyuk – third.
Chinese representative Xu Mentao climbed to the second step of the podium with Ukrainians.
For both Ukrainian athletes, these awards are the first in individual competitions at the World Cup.
In addition, this is the first time in the history of Ukrainian freestyle, when two ski acrobats of the national team at once were among the top three winners at the World Cup.
Anastasia Novosad also became the third Ukrainian athlete in history to win the women's ski acrobatics at the World Cup.
In 2020, Nadezhda Mokhnatskaya succeeded, and in 2012 – Olga Volkova.
