In Tashkent (the capital of Uzbekistan), competitions were held within the framework of the World Weightlifting Championship. Ukrainian Alina Marushchak became the absolute world champion among women.

The athlete won three gold medals in the snatch, clean and jerk and combined event. The Ukrainian Weightlifting Federation reported this.

First, the 24-year-old Ukrainian won gold in the first type of competition – the snatch. She mastered the weight of 113 kg, which is five kg more than that of her rival from South Korea.

In the clean and jerk, the athlete took 135 kg, surpassing the results of representatives of other countries in competitions.

In the amount of snatch and clean and jerk (248 kg), Maruschak won a gold award and became the absolute world champion. She showed better results than athletes Valeria Rivas from Colombia and Iseula Kim from South Korea.

By this time, only one Ukrainian managed to win three awards at one world championship – in snatch, clean and jerk and biathlon.
