Ukrainian units are withdrawing from Avdiivka due to the situation around the city and in order to preserve the life and health of the military.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky announced this on his Facebook page.
— Based on the operational situation that has developed around Avdeevka, in order to avoid encirclement and preserve the lives and health of military personnel, I decided to withdraw our units from the city and switch to defense on more advantageous lines, — he said.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the Ukrainian defenders worthily fulfilled their military duty, did everything possible to destroy the best Russian military units and inflicted significant losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment.
