Ukrainian snowboarder Annamari Dancha, who was not allowed to start the competition at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing because of a false positive test for coronavirus, said she would file a protest against the actions of the organizers of the competition.

According to the Ukrainian, before the competition she passed four negative tests and received permission to participate in the qualification. However, the organizers actually stated before her start that she was ineligible due to dubious tests.

After the intervention of the Ukrainian delegation in Beijing, the athlete was still allowed to compete, but she took only 26th place in the qualifications for the 2022 Olympics and could not compete for medals.

According to the athlete, she was treated unfairly, and therefore she will demand explanations from the organizers.

“I am very glad that this crazy covid game is over for me. I won it, considering what I had to go through to start. It was very stressful and painful. Five minutes before I went to the start, the organizers told me that I had a positive test and that I should be isolated immediately (which was not true).

She noted that she “fought to the last for her rights” , because she knew that before the race she had four negative tests.

– I will file a protest with the International Snowboard Federation and demand an explanation, because I still have not received an answer, and I cannot understand how this happened to me. After all this, I still want to believe in the beauty of the main sporting event – the Olympics, – Dancha wrote.

As a result, the victory in the parallel giant slalom was won by the Czech athlete Esther Ledecka, the silver went to the Austrian Daniela Ulbing, and the bronze went to the representative of Slovakia Gloria Kotnik.

The medal standings for the 2022 Olympics are led by the Norwegian team, which has six gold, three silver and five bronze medals. The second is Germany, and the Netherlands closes the top three.
