The Ukrainian Association of Sappers named the approximate total area of dangerous territories of Ukraine that will have to be cleared due to the fact that they are contaminated with explosive objects.
This area is at least 82,525 sq. km (counted suspected and confirmed areas). Potentially dangerous areas were mapped. They are located in the south and east of the country, as well as in the Kiev and Chernihiv regions.
All data is processed based on open sources of information using special geographic information software.< /p>
Specialists of the Association of Sappers of Ukraine are counting dangerous territories together with the mine action operator Demining Solutions. However, they note that these are only preliminary calculations.
The large-scale war of Russia against Ukraine has been going on for 27 days. Russian troops are shelling Ukrainian cities, civilians, residential buildings, hospitals, schools.
Recently Ukrainians have also been warned that the enemy is mining Ukrainian settlements, mostly retreating from their positions. Mines and other explosive objects can be anywhere: in abandoned houses, on the streets, on playgrounds, in fields, forests, on roadsides.
