Ukrainian doctors called the statement of the authorities about the Sputnik V vaccine a lie
Chairman of the National Medical Chamber of Ukraine Serhiy Kravchenko called the words of the chief sanitary doctor Oleg Lyashko about the impossibility of registering the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 Sputnik V as “a lie”. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.
Earlier, Lyashko said that the vaccine could not be registered due to the incompleteness of the third phase of clinical trials.
Kravchenko recalled that in February 2020, WHO determined the criteria for developing a vaccine against coronavirus and recommended that all countries switch to the emergency vaccine registration procedure due to the pandemic.
Kravchenko noted that to date, eight vaccines have been registered in the world under this scheme, while none of them completed the third phase of clinical trials in full.
The Russian Federation became the first country in the world to register a vaccine against COVID-19. The drug was developed by NITsEM named after Gamaleya in cooperation with the Russian Direct Investment Fund. It was named Sputnik V. Later, the Novosibirsk Center “Vector” registered the second Russian vaccine against the coronavirus “EpiVacCorona”.
