Recently it became known that the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau plans to develop a new Kilchen anti-aircraft missile system, which will hit targets at a distance of up to 280 kilometers. It was reported that the air defense system will be a multi-channel system with a highly maneuverable missile. At the same time, the cost of the complex should be lower than the American analogue.
According to Sputnik radio, netizens criticized the news. “And why, from the very beginning of reading the article, I had a suspicion that“ someone ”was trying to clone the American Patriot?” Wrote one user. Another noted that Ukraine does not possess the technologies for the production of air defense systems, therefore “new developments will not go beyond the computer graphics layout.”
