Professional Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usyk made his debut for the Zhytomyr club Polesie against Rivne Veres in a friendly match of the Winter Cup 2022 football tournament.
The world boxing champion came on as a substitute in the 77th minute instead of the newcomer of Polesie Philip Budkovsky. Ukrainian journalist and blogger Dmitry Povoroznyuk, who played for Veres, remained in reserve during the game.
The fight was postponed from February 3 to February 4 due to worsening weather conditions in Turkey. The meeting of football teams ended with the victory of Zhytomyr Polesie with a score of 2:1.
In the 10th minute, the score was opened by the central defender of the Rivne Veres football player Roman Goncharenko. In the 31st minute, the right winger of Polesie Dmitry Shastal equalized the score.
At the 69th minute, the third and last goal in the duel was scored by athlete Denis Yanakov. It was he who brought victory to Zhytomyr Polesie at a friendly match of the Winter Cup 2022 football tournament.
