Ukrainian bobsledder Gunko caught doping at the 2022 Winter Olympics

The International Doping Testing Agency (ITA) reported that a sample taken from the Ukrainian bobsledder Lydia Gunko gave a positive result (AAF).

This was reported on the ITA website.

So, in the body of an athlete, a banned metabolite of dehydrochloromethyl-testosterone was found.

The sample was reportedly collected during an in-competition anti-doping control on Feb. 14 in Yanqing, China. The test result was announced by a WADA-accredited laboratory in Beijing on February 17.

The Athlete has been informed and provisionally suspended from competition pending resolution of the issue in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and the IOC Anti-Doping Rules.

This means that Lidia Gunko is prohibited from competing, training or doing any activity during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

The Ukrainian can challenge her suspension in the Court of Arbitration for Sport – Anti-Doping Division (CAS ADD).
