However, later the result of Russia was canceled, and the medals were taken away due to a positive doping test from Pechenkin.
On July 7, it was reported that the lawyer of Russian biathletes Olga Zaitseva, Yana Romanova and Olga Vilukhina Alexey Panich explained the presence of scratches on the test tubes of the athletes. He stated that the presence of multiple scratches does not indicate a substitution of doping samples.
