The Ukrainian military will not be able to repel the attack of Russia in the event of a full-scale offensive, this requires the support of the West. This opinion was expressed by Kirill Budanov – the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
He stated this in an interview with American journalists.
– Unfortunately, at this stage, Ukraine must be objective. There are not enough military resources to repel a full-scale Russian attack if it starts, without the support of Western forces.
The head of the GUR said that the lack of clear commitments from Western partners terrifies Ukrainian officials. If Russia does invade Ukraine, it will be a real disaster . Therefore, other countries must provide military-technical support now.
& # 8212; They need to decide if we are allies, as they claim, in which case the allies are helping each other, or if they should say that this is not entirely true. If the civilized world wants to avoid a catastrophe, and this will be a catastrophe for everyone, we need military-technical support now, not tomorrow, not the day after tomorrow, not in a year, now.
The head of intelligence suggests that the Russian invasion may begin with airstrikes and rocket attacks , which will be directed to ammunition depots and soldiers in the trenches.
According to him, the Ukrainian military will be incapacitated. The leadership will not be able to coordinate the defense and provide for the front. After that, the responsibility for the conduct of the battle will fall on the front commanders.
