The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced the start of large-scale anti-terrorist exercises in the Kherson region. A message about this appeared on the official website of the department.
According to intelligence agencies, units of the Armed Forces (AFU), the National Police and the State Border Service will be involved in the exercises. The most intense trainings will take place near the border with Crimea, as well as in the coastal zone of the region. The military will work out the protection of critical infrastructure facilities. “First of all, this concerns seaports, energy supply facilities, an airport, bridges and gas production towers,” the statement says.
It is noted that the training will take place in conditions as close as possible to real ones. The number of involved equipment and military is not reported in them.
Earlier, similar exercises were held in the Ukrainian-controlled city of Happiness in the Donetsk region. The security forces expected that during their conduct, the activities of sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) could intensify, and significantly strengthened security measures.
