Achieving peace in Donbass is possible only through a political settlement, and not through threats and ultimatums, as the Ukrainian leadership wishes. This statement was made by the co-chairman of the Ukrainian party “Opposition Platform – For Life”, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yuriy Boyko, quoted by the newspaper “Strana.ua”.

The politician accused the authorities of the republic of trying to cause “military psychosis” among citizens, spreading rumors about the imminent invasion of Russian troops. “The past government used war as a technology and blamed everything on it – corruption, theft. The current one continues this path and blames the war on its lack of professionalism, stagnation in the economy, high tariffs, ”Boyko said.

The MP added that his party remained virtually the only political force in the country that is trying to achieve Ukraine's return to the implementation of the Minsk agreements. He stressed that the key condition for peace in the region is the political will of President Volodymyr Zelensky and his entourage.

“People are waiting for peace, and politicians are obliged to live up to their expectations. And if there is no political will – to leave, to give way to those who can return peace and unity to Ukraine, ”the parliamentarian concluded.

On December 26, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) accused the Armed Forces of Ukraine of firing rockets at the city of Horlivka. We are talking about two anti-tank missiles that fell near residential areas of the city. The shelling, presumably, was conducted from the direction of the Gladosovo settlement controlled by Kiev.
