Russia must show respect for its fallen servicemen and take their bodies and remains from the territory of Ukraine.
Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk stated this on the evening of March 17. She also spoke about the details of the meeting between Prime Minister Denis Shmygal and President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Mauer.

– During this meeting, Ukraine raised the issue of the need to organize the collection and identification of the bodies of the dead military forces of the occupier, – Iryna Vereshchuk said.
From the beginning of the war, Russia until now has not yet applied for the release of the bodies and remains of their dead, the number of which, Irina Vereshchuk noted, has long exceeded ten thousand.
– We turned to Peter Mauer for the Red Cross to invite Russia to show respect to their dead soldiers and start negotiations to take them out of Ukraine,” she summed up.
According to official data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the total combat losses of the enemy from February 24 to March 17 were approximately more than 14 thousand.
