Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga admitted that the Ukrainian crisis could lead to a split in the country in 2022. This is reported by URA.RU with reference to his words on the air of the Politeka TV channel.
“2022 is the year of the last wave of the crisis of statehood. It all depends on which way the authorities will choose in terms of the implementation of the Minsk agreements. Ukraine can theoretically be dismembered by external players. Whether it will be physically, economically, geopolitically depends on the correct moves that our government will make, ”the expert suggested.
According to the political scientist, it is important whether the country will be able to resolve the issue of Donbass in accordance with the Minsk agreements. In this case, notes Chaplyga, Ukraine will have a chance to preserve its integrity.
On January 4, it was reported that US First Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, during a telephone conversation with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, discussed coordination between NATO allies, including in the context of “containing” Russia. It is noted that the parties stressed the importance of promoting solidarity and stability in Europe, including support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
