Ukraine has requested international assistance from the North Atlantic Alliance amid a possible new Russian invasion.
According to the NATO press service, the request was made by official Kiev in connection with large-scale emergencies of a different nature.
— The State Emergency Service (SSChS) of Ukraine is preparing for large-scale emergencies of a different nature that may affect its civilian population. In accordance with the referral procedures, on February 15, 2022, the EADRCC received a request for international assistance from Ukraine.
EADRCC (Euro-Atlantic Natural and Man-made Disaster Response Coordination Center) is NATO's primary civil emergency response mechanism in the Euro-Atlantic area. All NATO allies and partner countries participate in its work.
The Center functions as an information exchange system for coordinating requests and offers of assistance, mainly in the event of natural and man-made disasters.
