The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov said that since the start of the coronavirus immunization campaign in the country, more than 230 thousand people have received the vaccine against the infection. He posted the corresponding report on his Facebook page.

According to him, the number of vaccinations made in the country continues to increase with each one. On the eve of the drug received more than 18.6 thousand people, since the beginning of vaccination – 231 566. At the same time, the second component of the vaccine was introduced to only two Ukrainians. It is noted that the largest number of vaccines to date have been received by residents of Kiev, the smallest – by the Kherson region.

“Three simple rules of anti-epidemic safety – keeping distance, wearing a mask and hand hygiene – save lives,” Stepanov wrote under the post.

Vaccination against coronavirus in Ukraine began on February 24. The first batch of the drug Covishield, which is manufactured in India under the license of the AstraZeneca company, has arrived in the republic. After its application, two deaths were recorded in the country. The first one – from a 43-year-old serviceman under contract, the second – from a pharmacist at a military hospital pharmacy. After that, Ukrainian doctors began to refuse vaccination en masse, for which they were offered to be fired from their jobs.

According to the latest data, more than 1.6 million people have been infected with the coronavirus in Ukraine. On March 4, the government announced the beginning of the third wave of the spread of the infection. By March 31, the country reached record rates for deaths from COVID-19.
