On Friday, February 18, the Munich Conference started, among the main topics of which is the escalation of the Russian Federation on the Ukrainian state border. This was stated during his speech at the opening by the head of the Munich Security Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger.
– I am very pleased with the participation of Ukrainian guests, President Zelensky. I am very sorry that the Russian government decided to use NATO to justify its position,” he said.
Ischinger added that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during a visit to Moscow that it was Germany's duty to work to prevent war.
“Let's get to work,” he urged.
The head added that “all opinions” can and should be represented at the Munich conference.
