Ukraine extended the ban on the import of goods from Russia for another year

The Cabinet of Ministers extended the trade embargo (ban) on the import of Russian goods into Ukraine for another year – until January 1, 2023.

The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting. The ban on the import of goods from Russia into the customs territory of Ukraine has been in effect since the end of 2015.

This decision was then a response to the actions of Russia, which unilaterally terminated the Agreement on the Free Trade Zone and included Ukraine in the list of countries, from which it is prohibited to import agricultural products, raw materials and food.

The Ukrainian embargo applies to a number of Russian goods and products, including meat, fish, coffee, tea, grain, caramel, confectionery and sweets, beer, cigarettes, vodka, alcohol, pet food, carriages, locomotives, cars, tractors, paper, detergents.

Russian goods can still be found on the shelves of Ukrainian stores. Thus, the Russian Federation continues to be among the top three suppliers of goods to Ukraine.

Imports from the aggressor country decreased by almost 15% compared to the previous year. But we continue to buy oil products most actively from our northern neighbor.
