The President's Office wants international organizations to be more actively involved in the opening and operation of humanitarian corridors.
This was stated during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine by Tatyana Lomakina, Presidential Adviser on Barrier-free Areas.
– We see a significant need for more active involvement of the International Committee of the Red Cross, UN organizations, UNICEF – all international organizations entitled to deploy humanitarian missions. The head of the International Committee of the Red Cross has already promised that the mission will become more involved in the work in Ukraine,” Lomakina said.
According to her, 200,000 people have already been evacuated to save women, children, people older and disabled.
— Despite the fact that the occupiers are constantly disrupting agreements, shelling humanitarian corridors, the Ukrainian side does not stop work. Just today, we prepared 26 buses that Ukraine sent to Mariupol to pick up people who have already walked to Melekino today, where it is planned to pick them up,” the presidential adviser said.
