Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said there was no military threat from Russia, reports the Politics of the Country Telegram channel.

“Today we do not see a big danger at the borders. To date, we do not see threats of open aggression from the Russian Federation, ”he said during a briefing after the NSDC meeting.

According to him, there is a slight increase in Russian troops on the border, but it is not critical. The very presence of these troops 200 kilometers from the Ukrainian border is news only for some Western countries, Danilov emphasized.

The NSDC secretary also stated that Russia is not at all ready to attack Ukraine. “Relax, calmly celebrate the New Year,” he concluded.

Earlier Danilov called the collapse of Ukraine task number one for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In recent weeks, statements have been made in Kiev and in the West about the threat of a Russian attack on Ukraine. The Kremlin called it a baseless escalation of tension.
