Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba boasted that Kiev had succeeded in closing the representative center of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) in France. The Foreign Minister wrote about this on Twitter on March 23.
“I confirm officially: the court of appeal in France closed the so-called. “DNR center” in Marseilles, declared it null and void and founded illegally. The association will be disbanded, its premises will be closed, and meetings of members will be prohibited. We fought for this for a long time and won, ”Kuleba said.
The head of the center, Hubert Fayard, in a conversation with TASS, called the court's decision an encroachment on freedom of speech and a dangerous precedent. “It is all the more surprising that in France there are associations representing unrecognized countries, such as the Bureau of Catalonia,” Fayard said.
RIA Novosti reports that the DPR representative center was officially opened in Marseille in September 2017. Its main task is declared to be truthful informing of the French about the situation in Donbass. Similar offices have been established in Finland, Czech Republic, Greece and Italy. In 2018, the court did not close the DPR center in France.
