Today, June 15, the Global Peace Summit began in Switzerland, where the key points of ending the war in Ukraine are discussed. Representatives of a number of countries have already spoken, including the presidents of France and Finland.

The peace summit, initiated by Ukraine, is taking place on June 15 – 16 in Bürgenstock in Switzerland on the initiative of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. Note that before the start of the event, the Swiss government confirmed that 100 delegations would take part, of which 92 countries and 8 organizations.

What said the President of Finland

During the first plenary session of the Global Peace Summit, Finnish President Alexander Stubb expressed support for our country. According to him, Ukraine is starting the process of peace in the war with Russia from a position of strength.

I think Ukraine is actually starting this process of peace from a position of strength. Much stronger than it was three weeks ago, and even more so than three months ago, the Finnish leader emphasized.

He also recalled that his country also has a border with Russia that is about 1,300 kilometers long, which cannot but worry him, given the occupation on the eve of World War II.

It is necessary to repel Russia's aggression

French President Emmanuel Macron said during his speech that Ukraine's capitulation cannot be the path to peace. In order to achieve peace, it is first necessary to repel Russia's aggression.

All of us are committed to building sustainable peace. But, as has already been said, Ukrainian capitulation cannot become such a peace. Therefore, the prerequisite for peace is assistance to Ukraine in repelling aggression, – the French head explained.

Peace plan may be presented to Russia

  • Andriy Yermak stated that Ukraine is ready to present a peace plan to Russia after the Peace Summit in Switzerland. The Russian representative may see this plan at the second summit.
  • At the same time, the head of the OP noted that the Ukrainian plan will not include any concessions regarding the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of our state.
