A Ukrainian court arrested 12 planes of a Russian airline in absentia for flights to Crimea. This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, which is part of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, on its Facebook page.

– Under the procedural leadership of the autonomy prosecutor's office, the court seized 12 aircraft of the Russian air carrier, which were used to transport passengers from / to the Simferopol-avia checkpoint closed by Ukraine, which is located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, – the prosecutor's office said.

It is also clarified that earlier a similar measure was applied to another 199 Russian aircraft.

Earlier, the prosecutor's office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol appealed to the Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol with a demand to find 109 Russian aircraft arrested in absentia that violated the order of arrival on the occupied peninsula. It also explains that the relevant requests for international legal assistance were sent to foreign instances.

Recall that Sevastopol and Crimea became part of Russia on March 18, 2014 following a referendum, in which the overwhelming majority of the population of the peninsula voted for it.
