Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valery Zaluzhny announced that Ukraine has no plans for an offensive in the Donbass. The content of his statement is reported by TASS.

According to Zaluzhny, the Armed Forces of Ukraine strictly comply with the Minsk agreements and the norms of international humanitarian law, and also “do not plan any offensive operations or shelling of civilians.” “Our actions are exclusively defensive in nature,” he stressed. The military added that “any damage that may be caused to people or infrastructure” in the uncontrolled territories “is a provocation.”

Earlier, Ukraine and the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) accused each other of continuing to shell positions in the Donbass. The situation worsened on the morning of February 17, when there was an aggravation in many sections of the line of contact. The parties accused each other of escalating the military conflict.
