Commander of the Ukrainian Navy: the country can buy Harpoon missiles from the United States

The Commander of the Naval Forces (Navy) of Ukraine, Rear Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, admitted the possibility of the country's purchase of Harpoon anti-ship missiles (ASM) in the United States. He stated this in an interview with UNIAN.
“I know that we are moving forward, and nothing will turn us off this path. Whoever wants what, Ukraine already has missile weapons. And there will be more, “said Neijpapa, answering a question about negotiations on obtaining Harpoon missiles.
Earlier, Neizhpapa spoke about American weapons for the Ukrainian fleet. According to him, in 2022, enterprises will begin assembling American weapons. American-made Island-class boats will receive 30mm artillery mounts and missiles.
Also, the commander of the Ukrainian Navy spoke about plans to replace Soviet amphibious aircraft. He noted that over the next five years, Soviet Be-12 aircraft will be replaced with a new model.
In October, the commander of the Black Sea Fleet (1998-2002), Admiral Vladimir Komoedov, spoke about the security of Russian ships. He stressed that Russian air defense systems can shoot down Tomahawk and Harpoon subsonic missiles.
