The Armed Forces of Ukraine are watching to prevent possible provocations from Russia or illegal armed groups located on the territory of the occupied Donbas.
This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Valery Zaluzhny on the air of Freedom of Speech on ICTV.
He was asked whether provocations are expected from ORDLO and what kind of casus belli (a formal reason for declaring war. – Ed .) Russia can use from the occupied Donbass.
– The enemy always has a lot of reasons in reserve that can become casus belli. I can say that we have been waiting for these provocations for about eight years now. The most important thing is for us to prevent these provocations,” said Valery Zaluzhny.
He recalled the attempted provocation on February 12, when the Russian media began to spread fakes about the shelling of Donetsk by the Ukrainian military.
“We then reacted very quickly, made several important statements that such accusations against the Armed Forces are unacceptable. We cannot allow this today,” said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He noted that one of the tasks of the Ukrainian military is to monitor and quickly analyze ongoing events, including in the information space.
Valery Zaluzhny emphasized that it is important to ensure that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not provoked and such military incidents are not allowed.
