British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said Russia would face consequences if it invades Ukraine. The Guardian writes about it.
According to him, an attack on Ukraine would be a strategic mistake, violating “the most basic freedoms and sovereignty.” Wallace warned that the UK will “strike back the hooligans” no matter how far the conflict goes.
“The UK and our Nordic partners are united in our approach to European security,” he said after meeting with the defense ministers of Sweden, Finland and Norway. Wallace stressed that London will always stand by its European neighbors as they are vital partners with whom Britain works to protect common values and confront common threats.
This is the second comment in two days by British politicians regarding the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border. Earlier, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that Russia was conducting a disinformation campaign aimed at justifying an invasion of a neighboring country.
