The UK has been able to raise $ 1 billion in funding for coronavirus vaccinations in 92 developing countries. This was reported by the British Permanent Mission to the UN in connection with the start of a three-day “virtual visit” to Britain by the organization's secretary general, Antonio Guterres.

– The UK has attracted $ 1 billion from international donors to help the most vulnerable countries gain access to coronavirus vaccines and stop the spread of the pandemic, the diplomatic mission said, writes TASS.

It is also noted that all these funds will be used for additional financing of the COVAX AMC (Advance Market Commitment) mechanism.

– In particular, this includes $ 548 million of the country's own contribution. This will provide one billion doses of vaccine for 92 developing countries this year, – explained in the permanent mission.
