Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White spoke about the future of Irishman Conor McGregor after being knocked out by American Dustin Poirier. MMA Fighting reports the promoter's words.
White likened McGregor's career to that of the title character in the Rocky films. “I'm a big fan of this movie. All this looks like the third part, where the hero already seems to have everything: yachts, wealth. He lives luxuriously, he is doing well. It's hard to behave like a beast in such conditions, ”he said.
“Once, Conor was hungry for victory. He had nothing – he wanted money and other things: suits, cars, houses. Now he has everything. Therefore, there are two ways: either he gets hungry again, or he finishes, “said the head of the UFC.
On January 24, McGregor lost to Poirier in the main event of UFC 257. The fight ended in the second round. The Irishman lost by knockout for the first time in his career.
McGregor became the UFC champion in two weight classes. On account of his 22 victories with six defeats.
