On December 13, at 16.00 Kyiv time, a new draw for the Champions League 1/8 finals will begin, as the previous one was canceled due to several mistakes by UEFA employees.
The latter, in particular, were accidentally pulled in a pair to Villarreal by Manchester United, although the teams played in the same group.
After that, UEFA representatives did not put a ball from Manchester United in the basket to determine the rival of Atlético.
Initially, the following round of 16 pairs were formed:
- Benfica – Real Madrid,
- Villarreal – Manchester City,
- Atletico – Bayern,
- Salzburg – Liverpool,
- Inter – Ajax,
- Sporting – Juventus,
- Chelsea – Lille,
- PSG – Manchester United.
The first matches of the Champions League 1/8 finals will take place on 15-16 and 22-23 February. The return ones are March 8-9 and 15-16.
The final of the tournament is to take place on May 28 at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg.
