The draw was held twice for the first time in history due to a mistake by the UEFA staff.
After it was corrected in the Champions League round of 16, the teams were distributed as follows:
- Salzburg ( Austria) – Bayern (Germany),
- Sporting (Portugal) – Manchester City (England),
- Benfica (Portugal) – Ajax (Netherlands),
- Chelsea (England) – Lille (France),
- Atletico (Spain) – Manchester United (England),
- Villarreal (Spain) – Juventus (Italy),
- Paris Saint-Germain (France) – Real (Spain).

The first matches of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League will take place on 15-16 and 22 -February 23. The return ones are March 8-9 and 15-16.
The final of the tournament is to be held on May 28 at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg.
