Drones attacked six regions of Russia at once at night and in the morning of July 9 – Belgorod, Rostov, Voronezh, Kursk, Astrakhan and Volgogradskaya. The Russians announced hits on an oil depot, electrical substations and transformers.

Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that during the night several cities and villages in the region were attacked at once: Belgorod, Shebekino, Novaya Tavolzhanka, Dronovka and others. A man died and several other people were injured. Destruction of private homes and damage to vehicles were reported. There are interruptions in the power lines.

Several dozen drones attacked the Rostov region. The Russians claim their air defenses destroyed most of these drones. However, according to the head of the region, Vasily Golubev, in the Rodionovo-Nesvitaysky district two transformers caught fire. The fire there was extinguished. It is also reported that in the village of Generalskoye, as a result of the attack a substation is on fire.

In the Volgograd region, several drones attacked the city of Kalach-on-Don. Local residents reported hearing about 10 explosions overnight. According to Governor Andrei Bocharov, two objects were attacked – an oil depot and an electrical substation. The head of the region indicated that the air defense forces “stopped” the attack, and the two objects mentioned caught fire as a result of supposedly falling debris. The oil depot is still being extinguished.

UAVs also tried to attack the Voronezh region. According to preliminary data, all drones were destroyed.

In the morning, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that air defense forces allegedly shot down three drones over the territory of the Belgorod region, seven over the territory of the Kursk region, two over the territory of the Voronezh region, 21 over the territory of the Rostov region and five over the territory Astrakhan region.

Recall that on July 8, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. The attack killed 37 people, including three children. More than 170 more people were injured.
