MOSCOW, October 14. / TASS /. The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of the Rostec state corporation) is expanding the production of Be-200ES aircraft to create a special squadron for extinguishing fires around the world. This was reported to TASS on Thursday by the press service of the UAC.
“The Beriev Aircraft Company (part of the UAC) is capable of ensuring the production of the required number of Be-200ChS amphibious aircraft,” the message says.
According to the corporation, the enterprise is expanding serial production taking into account current and future orders. “In particular, the plant is already building two Be-200ES amphibious aircraft by order of the Russian Emergencies Ministry,” the UAC noted.
Earlier, the general director of the state corporation “Rostec” Sergei Chemezov proposed to create a specialized squadron of Be-200 amphibious aircraft to extinguish natural and man-made fires, including abroad within the framework of humanitarian projects.
The Be-200ES is the world's only jet amphibious aircraft. He can take on board 12 tons of water. The aircraft has all the necessary certificates and, during operation, demonstrates high efficiency in the fight against forest and man-made fires in Russia and abroad.
